넉넉하지 않은 환경에서 자란 성남의 마음에는 돈을 많이 벌겠다는 강한 열망이 자리 잡았습니다. 고등학교 졸업 후 영어를 배우면 경제적 성공의 문이 열릴 것이라 생각하고, 복음이 아닌 영어를 목적으로 월코 제자훈련학교에 들어갔습니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 바로 그 자리에서부터 일하기 시작하셨습니다. 시간이 흐르며 선교사들의 삶을 통해 마음이 변화되던 중, 미국인 선교사와 성경공부를 하다 예수님께서 자신의 죄를 위해 십자가에 못 박혔다는 사실이 마음에 실제로 닿았습니다. 눈물을 멈출 수 없었고, 그 순간 자신의 죄를 회개하고 그리스도께로 돌이켰습니다. 이후 뉴욕 월비와 랭커스터 바이블 칼리지에서 수학하고, 지금은 월코 전임 선교사로 자신의 민족과 함께 사역하고 있습니다.
Growing up in modest circumstances, Jack carried a strong ambition to make money. After finishing high school he believed that learning English would open the door to financial success, so he enrolled in WOLKO's discipleship program — not for the gospel, but for the English. Yet God began His work in him from that very place. As time passed, his heart began to change through watching the lives of the missionaries around him. During a Bible study with an American missionary, the truth that Jesus had been crucified for his sins reached him in a real and personal way. He could not stop weeping, and in that moment he repented and turned to Christ. He went on to study at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and Lancaster Bible College, and now serves as a full-time WOLKO missionary among his own people.
