Jacob and Crystal serve as lead missionaries of Word of Life Korea, helping young people across Korea take their next step with Jesus. Based in Pyeongtaek and Jeju, they share the gospel through youth camps, training ministries, and partnership with local churches.

그의 이야기 His Story

제이콥 Jacob

저는 Jacob입니다. 어린 시절, 크리스마스 즈음에 예수님을 구주로 영접하게 되었습니다. 담임 목사님께서 사람들이 크리스마스에 선물을 주고받는 이유를 설명하시며, 하나님께서 제 죄의 형벌을 대신 치러 주시기 위해 독생자를 이 땅에 보내셨고 그로 인해 영생의 선물을 받을 수 있다는 복음을 전해 주셨습니다. 그때가 처음으로 복음을 온전히 이해하고 오직 예수님만을 제 구주로 신뢰하게 된 순간이었습니다. 여덟 살 때 매사추세츠에서 버지니아로 이사하며, 생명의 말씀협회 청소년 사역과 깊이 연계된 교회에 출석하게 되었습니다. 하나님께서는 그 교회를 통해 제 삶, 특히 영적 성장에 큰 영향을 허락해 주셨습니다. 뉴욕 생명의 말씀협회 캠프에 참가한 후 월비에 진학하기로 결단하였고, 그곳에서 하나님께서 제 마음을 새롭게 빚어 아시아를 향한 선교의 부담을 심어 주셨습니다. 월비를 졸업한 후 생명의 말씀협회 선교사 훈련 과정 2년을 이수하였으며, 그 기간에 리버티 대학교 통신 과정을 통해 종교학 학사 학위를 취득하였습니다. 아내와 저는 오직 하나님께 쓰임 받아 대한민국과 온 세계의 청소년들의 삶에 영향을 미치는 것, 그것만을 소망합니다.

My name is Jacob, and I trusted Jesus as my Savior at an early age. It was around Christmastime when my pastor explained why people give gifts on Christmas — that God sent His Son to pay the penalty for my sins so that I might receive the free gift of eternal life. I believe that was the first time I truly understood the gospel and placed my trust in Jesus alone to save me. When I was eight years old I moved from Massachusetts to Virginia, where I attended a church deeply involved in Word of Life Student Ministries. God used that church to have a huge impact on my life, especially in my spiritual growth. After attending Word of Life camps in New York, I decided to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute. It was there that God truly changed my heart and gave me a burden for the people of Asia. After graduating from the Bible Institute, I completed a two-year missionary training program with Word of Life. During that time I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Religion through Liberty University's distance learning program. My wife and I simply desire to be used by God to impact the lives of young people in South Korea and all over the world.

그녀의 이야기 Her Story

몰스 크리스탈 Crystal Morse

저는 Crystal입니다. 기독교 가정에서 태어났으며, 네 살 때 아버지께서 지옥에 관한 설교를 하시던 중 예수님을 개인의 구주로 영접하게 되었습니다. 설교가 끝난 후 어머니께 복음에 대해 여러 가지를 여쭈었고, 그날 예수 그리스도와의 인격적인 관계가 시작되었습니다. 열세 살 때, 제 삶을 그리스도를 위해 살아야 한다는 분명한 확신을 갖고 그분의 사역에 헌신하기로 결단하였습니다. 월비에서 2년간 공부한 후 데이비스 칼리지에서 기독교 사역 전공 학사 학위를 취득하였습니다. 지금은 다섯 딸 — 키에라, 알레야, 제이다, 엘라, 카리사 — 과 함께 대한민국 사역의 일원이 된 것이 너무나 기쁩니다. 하나님께서는 이곳에서 놀라운 일을 행하고 계시며, 그 자리에 함께할 수 있다는 것 자체가 큰 복입니다.

My name is Crystal, and I was born into a Christian home. I received Jesus as my personal Savior at the age of four, when my dad preached a sermon on hell. After his message, I asked my mom some questions about the gospel, and that day I began my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When I was thirteen years old, I realized the need to live my life for Christ and dedicated my life to His service. I attended Word of Life Bible Institute for two years and then graduated from Davis College with a Bachelor's in Christian Ministries. We have five daughters — Kiera, Aleya, Jaida, Ella, and Carissa. We are all very excited to be a part of the ministry in South Korea. God is doing great things, and it is a blessing simply to be a part of it.
