제자들을 세상으로 보내다 Sending Disciples into the World
Javaris는 WOLBI 제주의 국제 입학 코디네이터로 전 세계 학생들을 모집하고, 입학부터 도착까지 전 과정을 돕고 있습니다. 말씀으로 훈련된 제자들이 더 많은 제자를 세우며 세상으로 나가도록 하는 것이 그의 소명입니다. Javaris serves as WOLBI Jeju's International Admissions Coordinator — recruiting students from around the world and guiding them through every step from enrollment to arrival. His vision is to see young people trained in God's Word go out and become strong disciple-makers for Jesus.
"하나님이 우리를 세우심은 노하심에 이르게 하심이 아니요 오직 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 구원을 받게 하심이라 예수께서 우리를 위하여 죽으사 우리로 하여금 깨어 있든지 자든지 자기와 함께 살게 하려 하셨느니라 그러므로 피차 권면하고 서로 덕을 세우기를 너희가 하는 것 같이 하라""For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
간사 Staff 자바리스 Javaris Richardson
Javaris는 2017년 11월 고등학교 3학년 때 예수님을 영접했습니다. 그 전해에 국제 기독교 학교로 전학한 것이 하나님께서 그를 신앙으로 이끄신 첫 번째 발걸음이었습니다. 고등학교 2학년 때 참가한 필리핀 선교 여행은 그리스도인이 어떻게 살아야 하는지, 다른 이들을 어떻게 섬겨야 하는지를 두 눈으로 확인한 귀한 경험이었습니다. 고등학교 3학년 가을, Voice of the Martyrs 강사들이 전한 메시지에서 목사님이 학생들에게 결단을 초청했을 때 Javaris는 손을 들었습니다. 그 순간부터 하나님을 더 깊이 알고, 그분의 계획대로 살기를 원했습니다. WOLBI와 Moody Bible Institute를 거쳐 한국 WOLBI 제주 팀에 합류하게 되었습니다. 많은 젊은이들이 주님을 개인적으로 만나고, 말씀 안에서 자라나 강한 제자 삼는 자가 되기를 소망하고 있습니다.
Javaris was saved in November 2017 during his senior year of high school. The year before, he had transferred to an international Christian school — and that move was God's way of pulling him back into the Christian life. In his junior year, he had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to the Philippines. That trip was a huge eye-opener on what Christians are really meant to do and how they should be serving others. In the fall semester of his senior year, guests from Voice of the Martyrs spoke about how all Christians should be living their lives for the Lord, and Javaris raised his hand when the pastor invited students to make the decision themselves. From that moment, he wanted to learn more about God and live according to the plan He had for him. He went on to study at Moody Bible Institute before joining the WOLBI Jeju team in South Korea, hoping to see many young people come to know the Lord personally and become strong disciple-makers for Jesus.
