채병국 선교사는 월코의 Ministry Advancement 디렉터로 목회자들과 교회들을 연결하고, 건강한 네트워크를 형성하며, 교회들과 협력하여 훈련·행사·캠프를 기획하고 지속적인 동역 관계를 세워 가는 사역을 감당하고 있습니다. Peter serves as WOLKO's Ministry Advancement Director, connecting pastors and churches, building healthy networks, and partnering with local congregations to plan training events and camps that foster lasting ministry relationships.

저는 Peter입니다. 3대째 신앙을 이어 온 장로교 가정에서 태어났습니다. 어린 시절에는 어머니와 함께 새벽기도를 드리는 복된 환경 속에서 자랐습니다. 어머니는 항상 "하나님의 영광을 위해 더 친절한 사람, 더 나은 사람이 되어라"라고 당부하셨고, 저도 그 말씀대로 살기 위해 노력하였습니다. 그러나 청소년기에 접어들며 수많은 고민과 의문이 밀려왔습니다. 아무리 애써도 마음은 늘 공허했고 삶의 목적을 알 수 없었습니다. 부모님을 실망시키지 않으려 이중적인 삶을 살았고, 결국 완벽한 삶을 살아가는 것에 지쳐 극단적인 선택을 시도하였습니다. 그 시도는 실패로 끝났고, 이후 무거운 마음을 안고 하루하루를 보냈습니다. 고등학교 1학년 여름, 하나님의 뜻을 찾고자 간절한 마음으로 한 수련회에 참석하였습니다. 하나님께서 그 기도에 응답하셨습니다. 강사님의 메시지를 통해 제가 죄로 인해 마땅히 죽어야 할 존재이며 예수 그리스도가 필요하다는 것을 처음으로 깨달았습니다. 강사님은 요한일서 1장 9절을 통해 말씀하셨습니다. "만일 우리가 우리 죄를 자백하면 그는 미쁘시고 의로우사 우리 죄를 사하시며 우리를 모든 불의에서 깨끗하게 하실 것이요." 그 말씀을 듣고 죄를 고백하며 믿음으로 그리스도를 구주로 영접하였습니다. 그날이 제 삶에서 가장 행복한 날, 비로소 삶의 목적을 발견한 날이었습니다. 구원받아 하나님께 삶을 드리기로 결단한 후, 하나님께서는 그분의 선하심으로 제 발걸음을 선교의 부르심으로 이끌어 주셨습니다.
My name is Peter. I was born into a third-generation Presbyterian family. During my childhood I was blessed to attend early morning prayer meetings with my mother. She always urged me to become a kinder, better person for the glory of God. I tried to live by those words, but as I entered my teenage years, troubles and questions began to arise. No matter how hard I tried, my mind remained empty and I could not find the purpose of life. To avoid disappointing my parents I lived a double life — until one day, exhausted by the effort of trying to be perfect, I attempted to take my own life. That attempt failed, and I carried a heavy heart through each day that followed. In the first year of high school I attended a summer retreat, desperate to find God's will and hoping it would be a turning point. God answered that longing. Through the speaker's message I understood, for the first time, that I deserved to die for my sins and that I needed Jesus Christ. He spoke from 1 John 1:9 — "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I confessed my sins and received Christ as my Savior by faith. That was the happiest day of my life — the day I finally discovered my purpose. After I was saved and committed my life to God, He faithfully led me to answer the call to missions.
김미영 Miriam Kim
저는 Miriam입니다. 믿지 않는 가정에서 태어났습니다. 어린 시절 가끔 근처 교회에 나가기도 했지만, 예수님이 어떤 분인지는 알지 못했습니다. 진학한 중학교가 기독교 사학이어서 비기독교인 학생들도 성적을 받기 위해 예배에 출석해야 했고, 저도 성적 때문에 교회에 나가며 종교 활동에 참여하였습니다. 고등학교 2학년 때, 서울 불광동 한국기독교수양관(KCCG)에서 열린 기독교 리더 수련회에 참석하였고, 그 여름 수련회에서 예수님을 만났습니다. "진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니 내 말을 듣고 또 나 보내신 이를 믿는 자는 영생을 얻었고 심판에 이르지 아니하나니 사망에서 생명으로 옮겼느니라." (요한복음 5:24) 고등학교 졸업 후 KCCG에서 청소년 사역을 도우며 섬겼고, 이것이 하나님께서 제게 주신 비전임을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 그 비전을 함께 품은 병국을 만나 하나님의 나라를 함께 세워 가기로 결단하였습니다. 이후 캠프를 통해 십대들에게 복음을 전하는 월코에 합류하여 오늘날까지 주님을 섬기고 있습니다. 저희 두 사람이 품은 간절한 비전은 대한민국의 많은 청소년들이 그리스도인 친구들의 삶과 증언을 통해 복음을 듣는 것입니다.
My name is Miriam. I was born into a non-believing family. As a child I occasionally attended a nearby church, but I did not know who Jesus was. The middle school I attended was a Christian private school. There was a church in the school, so non-believing students had to attend chapel services to receive credit. I went to church and participated in religious activities simply for the grades. In the eleventh grade I attended a retreat for Christian leaders at the Korea Christian Conference Ground (KCCG) in Bulgwang-dong, Seoul, and that summer I met Jesus. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." (John 5:24) After graduating from high school, I served at the KCCG, helping with youth ministry, and came to recognize that this was the vision God had given me. I met my husband, who shared that same vision, and together we committed to building the kingdom of God. We then joined Word of Life Korea, which reaches teenagers with the gospel through camps, and have continued serving the Lord together to this day. Our deepest longing is to see many young people in South Korea hear the gospel through the lives and testimonies of their Christian friends.
