사랑으로 학생들을 세우다 Loving people Building Up Students

2011년 3월 11일, Berny는 예수 그리스도를 개인의 구주로 영접하기로 결단했습니다. 기독교 가정 출신은 아니었지만 하나님의 존재를 믿는 가정에서 자랐습니다. 아무도 자신을 소중히 여기지 않는다는 느낌 속에서 살던 중, 요한복음 3장 16절을 통해 세상이 자신을 받아들이지 않더라도 하늘 아버지께서 독생자를 보내실 만큼 자신을 사랑하신다는 사실을 깨달았습니다. 오직 예수 그리스도만이 마음을 진정으로 채우실 수 있음을 알게 된 순간이었습니다. 2012년 아버지의 4기 뇌종양 진단으로 혼란과 우울 속에 하나님으로부터 멀어지는 시간을 보냈습니다. 그러나 2013년 잠언 3장 5~6절 말씀이 다시 마음에 다가왔고, 삶의 모든 상황에서 하나님을 신뢰하지 않았음을 깨달았습니다. 그해 Word of Life 캠프 모닥불 예배에서 다시 삶을 주님께 드리기로 결단하며 전임 사역자로 헌신하였습니다. 뉴욕 성경학교에서 아시아 학생들을 섬긴 경험을 발판 삼아, 이제 제주 WOLBI에서 학생들에게 가진 것을 흘려보내는 사역을 기쁨으로 감당하고 있습니다.

On March 11, 2011, Berny made the decision to receive Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Though she did not come from a Christian home, she grew up in a family that believed in the existence of God. Living with a sense that no one truly valued her, she encountered John 3:16 and came to realize that even if the world would not accept her, her heavenly Father loved her so much that He sent His only Son. It was the moment she understood that only Jesus Christ could truly fill her heart. In 2012, her father was diagnosed with a stage four brain tumor, and Berny found herself drifting from God in the midst of confusion and depression. But in 2013, Proverbs 3:5–6 spoke to her heart once again, and she realized she had not been trusting God in every area of her life. At a Word of Life camp bonfire service that year, she made a fresh commitment to surrender her life to the Lord and dedicate herself to full-time ministry. Having served Asian students at the New York Bible Institute, she now joyfully pours into the lives of students at WOLBI Jeju.
